Yup, I saw this at the Codex. Seems I got just about everything right in my "I Hate Leeds" thread from 2005.

You need eyes up your arse to remain law-abiding.

If I were to be put on trial for each incident I've broken the law I'd probably get life.

Well, at least there are legal systems that're as fucked as the U.S. That's reassuring.

Given that the only Nazi to be excommunicated was Josef Goebbels (for marrying a protestant) I would say that excommunication is really something of an honour and that in the midst of her other problems the poor little girl should at least be proud of that.

    Isn't this old news though?

Am I the only one here who occasionally feels like handing in their membership card for the human race? Because, seriously, in the U.K. ice-cream vans can't play music within 50 feet of hospitals, schools or places or worship, that's how fucked up they are.

And don't even start me on religion.

Yeah. I misread the date on the forum I saw it posted from. Thought it said March 2, 2010 instead of 2009

If by occasionally, you mean almost constantly, then no. You're not the only one. I actually wanted to concentrate on science when I was a little kid, so I could make monsters. Imagine my disappointment when I found out it didn't quite work like that.

Hospitals are filled with people who desperately need rest.

Schools are filled with children who will suffer greatly if they are trapped in a room and trying to concentrate on their studies.

Places of Worship don't need a guy in the parking lot blaring 'The Entertainer' through the stain glass windows in the middle of their meditation time.

50 feet is a very short distance. You would have to be in the parking lot.

This seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Hospitals are filled with people who desperately need support, and ice cream would probably make them feel better. Especially the terminal ones.

Schools are filled with children who will suffer greatly if they don't have ice cream. I mean, what're they going to do, pay attention?

Places of Worship don't need a guy on a podium, blaring about how they'll go to hell if they enjoy a chocotaco.

50 feet is a very short distance. Burn out in the parking lot!

I didn't know that Irish Catholics were just as bad as the Islamists.

Oh, creationism. I almost wish that Sigurd would return so we could have ourselves another round of that.

This shooting wasn't about religious beliefs, though. It was about a crazy woman who thought her niece was trying to get with her husband.

    Did you read the article?

She accuses her of being flirty in general with all men, including the husband. Also, I think "Irish Catholic" would represent a certain ethnical/cultural background, as Irish Protestants are the ones who do not accept Republican rule and prefer British rule instead.

I actually have no idea whether she is Catholic or not, or even Irish for that matter. "Burgess" is simply a name I would associate with Irish descent by default. The comment on Islamism can be entirely blamed on the fact that I've watched a crapload of Pat Condell's Youtube videos lately.
