RPG'S....WHAT NEXT???

what are some of the other top rpg's....baulders gate, icewind dale...i know of a few but as of yet i have only played and beaten diablo II w/exp. and arcanum...i'm pretyy much used to playingzelda, metroid etc... as you can see i have'nt played video games in years...anyhow i love the rpg aspect of finish quests, save the world blah blah blah...what's a good one to get after arcanum? or am i going to be dissapointed? there is so much to do in arcanum and different ways to do it...i'm going through my fourth time and still having fun...but i think a fifth time is going to wait a while...any suggestions for next game??? thanks

Even better: Fallout and Fallout 2.

Yeah Fallout is even better than Arcanum.Well at least Fallout 2 'cause I haven't played the first :sad:

 

what about f.o. tactic's...i'm not trying to be cheap but at 40$ a pop it can add up...thanks for the advice...i'm prob. gonna pick up a new game this weekend...:grin:

The Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series.

I've heard Deus X is a good RPG as well.

and Planescape: Torment.

D1 and D2 are not RPGs. They are action games that use levels :smile:

Fallout: Tactics is also not an RPG, it's a stategy game, IMO :smile:

Anyway exhile, look around on-line for Fallout 2. Some places like ebworld.com will sell you the full retail package with Fallout 1 thrown in as a freebie. This includes both manuals (woohoo!). It's cheap to; In the $10 range.

i will order from that site (even though it's on b.o.)cause the manuals can be pretty valuable...it was the jewel case at the store...so ordering is a must...

I still play Fallout 1&2 and it's been out for years now. There's just something about that game...

I'm jealous, I wish I was buying and playing Fallout for the first time again.

 

Yes, fallouts are the best... Icewind dale and BG suck.. BG2 is ok... anyone wanna make fallout mod for arcanum?

 

Sorry, but that would just suck IMHO.

Deus Ex isn't really an RPG, but is IS a bloody good game. Played through it 9 times, 8 of them on the hardest difficulty available...

 

It would suck, but still, it would be funny..

Deus Ex has been included in the top 10 chart of the most bought CD here.

 

Deus Ex is a great game! Actually, one of the top gaming magazines here named it the best game of all games to date. Obviously a shitload of people liked it.

 

thanks Milo...i couldn't pull up the web page (ebworld)...so i called some stores by my house...lo' and behold i found it 9.99...it's an older game so i'm hesitant, but you guy's seem to put a lot of faith in it...so i'll pick it up..

If you can, get the full retail package rather than the the double jewel-case deal. The manuals are great, especially the manual for Fallout 1. The double jewel-case deal comes with PDF manuals on the CD, so you still get to read them, but it's just not the same.

 

I never actually played it just heard. I saw the picture and wasn't attracted so I bought Arcanum instead.

 

Ah, it's a great game! You can knock people out, kill them in a most untimely fashion or waste them from afar!

You can perform Matrix-like leaps to boggle your opponents and cut them down from behind!

Honestly, it's the best Action/Adventure/RPG/FPS I've played (it's a combination of those, it has some elements from each).
