Could someone please tell me where, exactly, I find Virgil after he leaves? I read that he is in a basement under the Sobbing Onion, but I can't find a trapdoor or anything like it.
in the sobbing onion go to the part where the two men are standing. In the downright corner there's a trapdoor...
Whoa! You can find him again? Awesome! Maybe then I can squeeze his life story out of his dumb skull.
Hmm, i haven't gotten that far yet, but i think i can guess some highlight of Virgil's story, he was raised in Caladon, joined a bunch of thieves, one or more of them got killed in some heist that went horribly wrong, he set out by himself, tried breaking into a panarii temple, Joachim caught him, and instead of punishing him, he taught him the ways of the Panarii... Am i anywhere close?
EDIT: SPOILERS Actually, his brother (Lawrence, I think), a fine and upstanding citizen, was murdered because Virgil couldn't pay his gambling debts. The rest is okay, I think. You'll also meet Joachim if you go after Virgil (finally!). Interestingly, Virgil is supposed to die... but if you're playing the game patched, there's a chance he won't. See, I'd previously given him a pyrotechnic axe and machined platemail. He wound up chopping his assailants to ribbons. I walked over to congratulate him, and he thanked me for bringing him back. Uh... sure thing. :-?
Ah, but you did in a way, because he would have died if you hadn't off given him that nice stuff. Just look at it in a philosophical way - he managed to slaughter his opponents, and so brought him back from the brink of guilt!
The first time I resqued Virgin (I call him Virgin cuz hes a priest and they cant have sex) He was dead and I had to rez him. The second time, I killed all the guys, advanced time one day, and he was just standing there, Zen Virgil
Must be a bug of some kind... Can't you resserect him after he dies? I mean, after he gets killed by the asassins?
I think that they mean he gets killed AFTER you meet him again. Also, I hope he has the stuff he had when he ran away! Once, (the first time I played it) he was carrying all of my good stuff, and then he ran off after I went to the Dark Elves Village. That really stunk!
