Unless I'm mistaken, lead bullets are no longer used.

 

If you aren't mistaken they must have brought it in recently because i recall a simpsons episode where apu gets fired for having unsanitary hotdogs and meat WAAAAAAY past its used by date, anyway when he gets back on the job he gets shot in the heart and sais "ah, the searing kiss of hot lead, how i missed you" and that would have been about

You are very much mistaken. Few bullets are made of anything besides lead. The cartridge, which is not the bullet, is often made of brass, and that must be what you are thinking of. Go read a book.
