What affects your magical/technological aptitude? I'm a mage and decently along in the game (level 30, Wheel Clan) but my magical aptitude is low (I'm sure it used to be 40, but now it's 20).

I don't have a lot of spells trained. Is that a problem? After I got disintegrate I focused on boosting cha and persuasion.

To raise your MA you need to learn more Spells and lay off of the technical skills like spot traps or pick pocket and don't train in any tech colleges.

For a quick bump to MA purchase a dark helm (+20MA, -20 alignment). The higher your MA the more damage you do with most spells, for example harm will do 40 damage for 5 fatigue at 100 MA.

If you're a mage you want to get to 18 Willpower and get lots of spells.

Don't some locations affect your MA/TA? I seem to recall a thread where being in the Mage shops in Tarant boasted someone’s MA. If this is the case, then it makes sense that some locales could boast your TA.

Certain areas in certain places affect your MA/TA, yes.
