For the character I'm playing right now, I have to make a rather quick switch from 25 good alignment to at least -1 evil, preferably without gaining much experience in the process. I am level 13, in Tarant, just finished finding out the origins of the ring given by the "gnome". Does anyone know what quests or evil actions could lower my alignment by 20+ points? (Except killing city dwellers, because it only gives -1 alighment per person and much more experience than I need right now).

1)If you are magickal just get the dark helm from the castle in Ashbury.
2)Are you before G.Bates or after? If you are before you just could do the quests foe Cedrick Apelby.
3)Start yelling at the beggars. I think that reduces aligment by1.

Of course their reaction still decreases, so theymight attack you. Did you do the thief quests in blackroot? -20 for each of them, although you can only do one.

Actually, it sets your alignment to -100. So it can actually lower it by 200 (assuming your alignment is 100). Swing it just once, and you're pure evil. It is good to give it to Magnus though, because once he's pure evil, he'll stop bitching at you for evil acts (the game compares his alignmen to yours for that sort of thing I believe).

Well, the Scourge is out of the question so far. So is the Dark Helm, though it would be easier to obtain. BUT I have just discovered a brand new and useful bug!

Here's the thing. When you insult the beggar in Dernholm, his reaction goes down 5 points each time, and eventually he attacks you. But try it with the human beggar near the Underground headquarters in Tarant- and his reaction goes 5 points up each time! I have just shifted by alignment from +25 to -5, and left the beggar guy totally in love with me- reaction+272. Evil doers take notes- you can play a nice guy at the beginning to get fate ponts from Magnus at Schuylers and from Gar in Parnell's freak show- and shift your alignment easily back to evil to get Geoffrey as a follower.

Well, that's not a bug. Are you a gnome? It's like that when you're a gnome. The more evil people you kill the more followers like Raven and Magnus like you. :)

Really??? Interesting. I AM a gnome, but I'll have to try it with another beggar. It just seemed weird that the beggar would love me for calling him names.
Also, it might be a gnome kind of thing again, but I seem to be able to have more followers than my CH+ Persuasion expert bonus allow. I can have 4 followers, but I already have 5. Weird. Neither of them is a free follower, by the way. I have Virgil, Sogg, Magnus, Geoffrey and Vollinger. :/

Actually, that would make quite a lot of sense. You see, gnomes receive a +10 bonus to any bad reaction, so if insulting a beggar incurs a -5 hit to their reaction towards you, you should as would be right and proper wind up with a +5 reaction bonus as a gnome. It's weird, but well within the rules.

I take it that you haven't tried insulting the beggar in Dernholm with your current character? 'Cause I'm quite certain you'll get the same results there.

Hmm, makes sense. I kind of got used that Kites and other enemies who attack me don't even hate me, but have a mere dislike for me. I wonder how Sammy White will react to me though

Yeah, the Gnomish reaction bonus. Hey Solaris, I have sometihng for you to try. Learn "Charm", then use it on one of your followers, the cancel it. It'll leave +10 reaction on them, continuously. This only works if you're a gnome. :)

Sounds cheaper than killing and resurrecting followers to raise their reaction :D

And THAT makes a hell of alotta sense to. When you apply Charm there is a +10 reaction effect. It's a positive reaction, no racial effect. When you remove charm what you are basically doing is adding a -10 reaction effect. -10 is negative so the +10 gnome effect kicks in and negates it, and that's why removing Charm has no effect on gnomes.

EDIT: Matah, Jesus Christ! I read your post too and I just completely repeated what you said! OMG. Can you have alzheimer's aat 16?

That is very interesting . But it does seem like some kind of a bug escpecially when it happens with the beggars.

Perhaps a + reaction effect once when you meet someone instead of every time a reaction effect takes place. Like when you meet someone and your reaction starts at 48, maybe to correct this bug it should just start at 58 and not effect anything after that.
