problem loading arcanum

when i try to load arcanum i go through the animations for troika and sierra and get to the loading screen, after a while, the screen just goes blank for a sec, then puts me back in windows with no message or window showing up. i uninstalled and reinstalled after this happened and it didnt help, i deleted some programs that took up some memory, and it still wont work. i dont have any hacks or mods and i used to have the patch but after reinstalling arcanum i havent gotten it again. i could really use help from anyone...

 

I had that exact same problem, Luinil. In fact, that's how I ended up on this board; I was looking for some kind of solution.

This is what I did, and it worked for me.

• Go to your CD-ROM drive manufacturer's website and download the latest firmware. Flash that onto your CD drive.
• Go to the microsoft site and download the latest Windows Installer. Set that up.
• Uninstall Arcanum
• Reinstall Arcanum

Had you installed Arcanum before?When you install the game,you should deleted all the things in the old game directory(back up the saves & MODs if you want),I solved the probblem that way,so it might be help.

 

Have you called Arcanum Tech Support?
Send them an e-mail.
I have had a couple of configuration issues in the past and they provided some good answers.

They are the experts.

Don't buy Tech goods from elves ... you might not get what you expect.
