If you want to gain a master in persuasion heres how I did it:

First, Gain your Apprentice from one of the prostitutes in Madam Lil's in Tarant.

Second, Gain your Expert from The Tailor in Tarant/Caladon/Ashbury.

Now, to gain your master: (This Is a lot of work so here goes)

First Go to Mr. Willoughsby's house at: Nineteen Pickwick Alley
and talk to him. (he's the gnome. You can also pick up Perriman Smyth if you want) If hes not there go do most of the main quest and come back. He will tell you to come to his office (Town Hall) go there and talk to him (he has the big office there hard to miss) and keep talking to him till you come to the option where you voulenteer yourself to go to Caladon to help them sign the treaty with the Unified Kingdom.
Now, find out how to go to Caladon (probably from the main quest) and go there. when you get there go to the main castle but don't go in it yet. to the left is a man in a tan or brown suit talk to him. (he's Willoughby's secretary or something)
after he tells you not to talk to those people in the lobby, go inside and walk right pass them DON'T talk to them. When you get there in the main kings chamber talk to the council and always select the second choice line. You will have them convinced to sign the treaty. Now go outside where the secretary was and Willoughby will be there instead talk to him and he will give you the mastery in persuasion!

Now it can be easy getting Loghaire to be king again and if you think your really good: Try to convince Kerghan of his evil ways and he will turn good saving you a fight and granting you the title of most powerful dialectian in the known universe and, ultamatley save Arcanum. SHEESH! :dead:

If you want to know how to persuade Loghaire or Kerghan, just add a post and I will help.

Willoughsby and Smythe only appear after you have been to Quintarra and came back to Tarant. BY that time you have already either succeeded or failed in persuading Loghaire to be a king. A Master Persuasion title also allows you to persuade any follower to go with you, regardless of their alignment and other requirements.

Dude, this is all VERY easily searchable. Theere are like 8000 posts I've seen about just getting Loghaire, and a bunch on the master quest too.

BTW, if you want more specifics, Willoughsby's office is in the building where the Hall of Records is. Instead of going down the stairs just run straight through the doors into his office. Talking to him can get you both the Persuasion master quest, AND a quest down in the Boil which can get you Sebastian.

You can get Persuasion Apprentice from lots of people, although, since I'm usually and Madam Lil's anyway  , that's where I pick it up. I think alot of tailors, and maybe Ristezze give it too. Really not sure about Ristezze though :-? .

If you do that only pick the second line thing you won't get the most money. If you chance it a bit and lean it in Tarant's favor then you can get up to 9,000 gold.

Loghaire, as mentioned, is met before you can get master in persuasion so you'll have to deal without it. Talk to Randver about the Stone and Shape and convince Loghaire to retake the throne. Then after the Tseng'Ang come back and he'll join you.

I've never bothered to really convince Kerghan he's screwy, I just kill him anyway, but I do know it involves convincing him he's insane and needs to be stopped.

Jongle Dunn in Shrouded Hills is the only one there who can train you as an apprentice in persuasion. Riztezee cannot.

I successfully convinced Kerghan he needed to change his ways, but I had to fight him anyway. He said I should use the Vendigroth device on him. But he didn't have his shield up, so it did nothing. Then my guys attacked him. No cool ending.

If you plan to persuade Kerghan to drop his evil plans, leave your followers outside his room. If you don't, they attack as soon as the dialog ends. I had Kerghan shrining into his protective sphere already, but just as I was about to use the Vendigroth device on him, Dog decided to bite the sphere. Kerghan took offense and popped out of the sphere in his overpowered dragon shape and broke half of my Gnomish chainmail in one blow. Not that it helped him any, my party was strong enough to dispatch Kerghan almost without my own help.

Well, you can't blame the dog for being exited by a giant shiny ball, he still is a dog  :) .

That is just proof of how lost your followers would be without you. Look at Virgil. He's damn near retarded. If it wasn't for you, he would still be hanging out at the Crash Site, sniffing the exhaust fumes from the blimp.
