On the subject of trimmage

Let me confound and amaze you all with a story of follicle management. When I first found out that men were allowed to shave their pubic hair, I was like "Hell yeah, I'm going to do this!" and so for a few years I would go bare, save for a small patch, creating a style that I like to call "the Hitler moustache". However, then I started dating a woman who expressed a preference for a more natural look, so I let it all grow out. Then after I stopped seeing her, I thought I'd revert to the old Fuhrer, but as the excess hair was swirling down the plughole I was suddenly overwhelmed by a feeling of loss, as if my masculinity was represented by the hair and had gone missing. So now I'm conflicted, and considering a regime change. But the "completely overgrown" look still seems too much. Perhaps a kind of intermediate "shave the balls and outlying regions only" approach would be better - leaving a central thicket of trimmed hair that says both "I'm a man" and "I don't want you to get hair caught in your teeth either, baby." So, I'm consulting this forum for... well, not advice exactly, I'm not an idiot, but lets say I'm surveying the options available to me. What do you guys do? Input from genuine females on their preferences would also be welcome.

And no, I'm not going to post photos, so don't bother asking. Jesus, what is it with you guys?

 

Shave the balls and give the other areas a light trimming for optimal results. As you stated, it gives a nice balance between manliness and hygiene.

 

Cut all but a nice mustache and keep it neatly combed, not not only you will be cleaner and manly, but also your pubic area will have a touch of gentlemanly humor.

 

I've got two words for you: racing stripes.
