Miscellaneous Character-Building Questions

Two questions:

There are some portraits in the portrait bank on the Terra-Arcanum website that weren't included in the game, yet they match the Victorian style of the existing portraits better than most galleries. Where do these portraits come from? Troika?

Also, it's been implied that you can change the text of the "Unique Background" that each character has to better suit your concept of him or her. I couldn't figure out how do do that in-game; can you in fact actually do this?

I haven't looked at the portraits you mention, but I would hazard a guess that they are portraits of the NPCs you encounter in the game - same style, but not available for your use.

You can create custom backgrounds, but not within the game. It involves editing files already in the game... if you are interested in doing this, there is a tutorial available HERE!
