is it supposed to raise ST???? i think i read that somewhere but forgot where. IIRC it does not in the game.

LOL if it is then it proves once again that arcanum is a no good parody of fallout.
    basic mechanized plate=power armor
    mechanized plate=adv. power armor

    :(

not only do i not care, i think if arcanum wasn't in some way based on other similar games, it would be crap, there isn't a lot that hasn't been done anyway.

I think the parody comment is a bit cruel, as I don't think Arcanum tries to be Fallout at all. You find simillar items and equipment in many games, its unavoidable. (For example, you get power armour in Starcraft, Fallout, and and even the Warhammer 40k games.)

Anyway, it'd be funny if the devs paid a tribute to Fallout by putting a Power Armour scematic in the game, combining machined plate with the shocking staff. ;)

    Regards,
    Morden

This has been mentioned before somewhere long ago I think. Might not have been this board though. Can't remember.

Anyway, the patch does work, but you've got to apply it before you play the game. If you already have the mechanised plate then you've got to reload a savegame from before you got it. You might even have to start a new game. It's something along those lines. Anyway, if you've already got it then the patch won't work. :/

I thought the two headed cow was a tribute to Fallout. & not the only one.

Yes, the two-headed cow ;) "I think I've seen something like that somewhere else..." In Fallout they were Brahmin (or some close variation fo that spelling). You shouldn't be surprised though, from what I understand the Arcanum team includes several folks that worked on Fallout. They both have a similar "anything is possible" feeling to them that would be most welcome in other RPG's.

Brahmin are also a variety of cattle. A bit more than just another breed, as they have the ability to sweat, making them suitable for hot climates. Most of the cattle in our southwestern states are crossed with brahmins because of that.

They orignated in India, & I do not know if this is a local name, honoring the sacred nature of the cattle, or if it was applied by the brits. In either case, in the local reincarnation beliefs, the cattle are higher on the chart than any human caste.

There is a sort of Hindu priest called brahmin, devotees of Brahma I'd assume. It is not a caste.

I vaguely recall one of my philosophy professors saying the brahmin were in opposition to Hindu Intellectualism, but don't ask me what that's all about.

I always thought they were a caste that supplied priests. Hmmmm....

That's what I am saying, and if anything, the people are honored by being named for the cattle.

Indeed, the Native peoples of North America were completely dependant on cattle and Buffalo for their survival. It was amazing how much they could get from the animal to create a truely unique way of life.
