Who else here LOVES LOTR? I think the books are awesome and the first movie at least is great! Who else is excited about Fellowship of the Ring coming out August 6th?

This pool won’t make sense unless you specify if it’s for the book or the film. As much as I enjoyed the film you can’t consider it to be the same thing as the book, also remember that it was not the first adaptation. Ralph Baskie did a very good cartoon without technology or budget; unfortunately he couldn’t finish. His work is very different from the recent movie, but it is also Lord of the Rings.

I saw a cartoon version of LoTR, and it was absolute shit. The movie was good, but as Dennis said, it's not the same as the book. I'm glad they didn't have any of that Tom Bombadil shit in it though, that was a really crappy part of the book.

I just hope the battle of Helm's Deep in The Two Towers is done well, that's my favourite part of the entire series.

There were more than one, I have seen 2 of them; one I liked and the other I hated.

You wanna be careful - that kind of talk can get you savaged by a hardcore LoTR fan.

Then again, being set upon by a teenager with fake pointy ears and cardboard armour, shouting "I love you, Galadriel!" might not be all that scary.

Or Galadriel or Arwen herself might not be that bad either as they are both beautiful looking.

When talking about LOTR, I'd like to ask you how many knows names or colors of those two missing wizards (there was five wizards, Saruman, Radagast, Gandalf and those two missing)? Or how many even knows there was five wizards?

Hey guys, this weekend I went to see Men In Black II with the wifey, and I saw the previews for LOTR part 2. Quite frankly, Jar, I don't think we gotta worry about the battles lacking anything. Just from what I could get from the preview, it looked phreakin' awesome.

(Plus, Legolas got even more yummy.)

The two other wizards went to the east. I think their color was purple but I em not sure. Then there is Gandalf grey/white, Radagast the brown, Sauruman the white/of many colors.
The elfdressed galadriel-screaming fans is not those I em so afraid of, but the uruk-hai dressed swordswinging fans are those you should look out for. OR me. (Dresses upp in my huge balrogcostume, readies my big flaming sword and lightes the whip.)

You're forgetting that Tolkien himself didn't really like the part, and later admitted he should never have included it. So all those hardcore fans can go and have a group cry, group hug, group consolation and group therapy for not heeding the words of Tolkien as maniacally as they should have.

retard, I like the sound of that. The battle of Helm's Deep is cool - I like Gimli and Legolas' contest to see who can kill the most orcs.

I agree 'bout the Tom Bombadildo part. Didn't like it either. Left me feeling.......confused. Also, 'bout the LOTR part 2 trailer, it didn't show Gimli at all, however, it showed Legolas doing some pretty cool stuff. Sliding down a stair case banister on his feet while shooting dead orc after orc. It seems that we are gonna get a lot of action this second go-around.

Hill-arious. Smith is just as funny as ever, and Tommy Lee Jones shines with his dry, straight-faced sarcastic wit. I wasn't disappointed at all. Also, I don't think it ever showed in the trailer, but Laura Flynn Boyle is the antagonist in this one. She spends the entire movie dressed like a .......... Well, you'll just have to see for yourself. You're going to have to excuse me now. I hear a kitten calling, desperate to enter the afterlife. :hump:

Well, I didn’t like the first movie, but there is no way in hell that I am going to miss:
Friday is too far away… I need to see Lara Flynn Boyle...

PS: retard, it's Lara and not Laura, I have seem in an interview that she hates being called Laura; and you know you shouldn’t mess with a goddess.

Sorry 'tard but MIBII was adequate but not nearly as good as the 1st. MIB was new and really funny. II just used the same jokes and lacked any origionality. The best part of the movie was the LoTR trailer. It not only made me hard but it gave me a "happy ending."

I like the LOTR books too, but I also think the movies are cool. I am mainly anxious for LOTR part 2. I want to see the part that the three looking for Pippin and Merry meet Gandalf again and try to kill him, but he just uses his magick to make them drop their swords and burn their arrows.

Also, yes, I do like posting polls... it is the easiest way to get information... I mean, you try asking everyone in the US over 18 who they want for president in person. Hey, it's easy to read and less tryping for all you out there.

Never seen MIB2, but it looks kinda cool.

Also, never seen the trailers for LOTR 2.

Hey, who here has also read The Hobbit and the Simerillian (if that is how you spell it)? I liked The Hobbit and think it should be a movie after the LOTR series is done, but the Simerillian was hard to understand because it was just composed of notes arranged by JRR Tolkien's son after he died.
