I've never used this myself and I was wondering if I should include it in the hack that I am working on. I usually complete the game around level 30 so I've never seen the need for the level hack but perhaps other people feel differently. So is this hack unneeded? Does it upset the game balance? What do you think, in or out?
The hack is really only for people who want all of the character points to completely buff out their characters. I use it for fun, but getting to level 127 takes too damn long anyway. I manage to finish around level 45 or 46, so it wouldn't matter to me. Maybe you should put a tougher level cap on there, like make it so you can only get to a max of 35.
Even though it does ultimately boost you way beyond all possible challenges in the game, I'd have to say go ahead and include it. If your hack includes a way back from the Void, like Car-Arcanum does, then I and others like me will will be grateful to have the extra levels.
That's something I hadn't thought of. The Car Arcanum mod never worked for me, though. Every time I tried to start a new game, it crashed on me. if there is a way out of the void in this new mod you're making, then I guess the extra levels can't hurt, as long as there's a super-enemy to kill as soon as I get out. Basically, I would want more of a reason to leave than, "Oh, I forgot to finish a quest!"
Hey, like another poster once mentioned: Play the game as a good guy, come back from the Void, the townsperson starts to greet you like an old friend, then - BAM! Dynamite in his pocket. It kicks open the door for exploring both sides of your character's nature. Trust me, it's fun.
HA! That was me! Proof that I need to get out of my house! Wow, I don't think I've ever been quoted that far back before. That's amazing, and it gives a certain sense of satisfaction. What's more, I forgot I said it. Anyway, this mod really has a lot of features that would truly kick ass and take names. You seem to have everything a person could want in there, TONGS.
Oh, cool. Glad I could refresh your memory and I'd like to thank you for a wonderful game-playing suggestion. By any chance is there a little shack or something in Shrouded Hills where a fellow could sleep and store items?
I've not found any such shack in Shrouded Hills or anywhere, but maybe it's because after a couple playthroughs I stopped searching the towns because I already "knew where everything was." Even the cargo hold hack doesn't work for me. I think your best bet for finding a cheap place to crash and store your extra booty would be the inn at Black Root, with the quest the owner offers you if you can't pay for a room. He gives you an interminable stay at the inn when you complete it.
I'm sorry - my question was a bit vague. What I was asking was if there was going to be a place to sleep and store items in Shrouded Hills. Perhaps a new shack out by the mine or on the road to the bridge? In the unmodified game, Ahh - ahh, crap! - I forgot his name - the inventor outside of Black Root; killed by the Void monsters - his place has storage and a usable bed. But for sheer convienence, I am partial to the cargo hold. Tarant, Caladon, Ashbury, and Black Root - your bed and loot is close at hand.
