level 127 cap patch crash

i'm running into a problem when i reach the point of my level 51 level up. i have been able to o past the old barrier no problem in the past but i have recently reinstalled it. once my exp. points hit the magic number the tone sounds, (which is like 5 times as loud as before) and it crashs back to my desk top. it could possibly be that the time before when i was using the level cap remover that it was on windows XP, but i have since reformated my hardrive and am now using 98. help.
