I went back to my save game for my tech character. I had wanted him to either build or lay hands on as many schematic products as possible, as well as have the 4 main tech followers. I skimped on putting points into other things but I still put away too many to become professor of all fields this time. When I level this character up to 50, he'll be a couple points too short. It turns out by level 50 you'll have [64] character points! ....5 (from start) +50[-1] +10 (bonus every 5 levels) =[64] Since there are 7x8=56 learned schematics, it is possible to get them all and have [8] points left over! I used Essence of Intellect to put the points into the tech. Then I used the manuals to wise-up to build the items. Unfortunately besides firearms, I put points in melee, charisma, persuasion and frivolous things. But if I had just done (3pt) firearms and the altar blessings, I would have been better off. Also, it's possible to use Brain Builder to increase your right stats (IN, WP, PE, CH) at the expense of left ones (ST,CN,DX,BE). However, if you go too low in strength you might not be able to carry the manuals and make the robots. And if your DX is too low, you won't have the speed necessary to get off more than a shot or two a turn. Oh, and Vivifier adds 1 to all your stats, too.
Actually, you get 64 points. See, you start at level 1 and thus you level up 49 times before reaching 50.
Why would you want to learn all schematics anyway? Sure, it's a damn cool thing to do in it's own right, but seeing as you won't really be able to make any use of them until you get Velorien's blessing...
It may not be as impossible as it seems, as long as your top priority is to construct an army of automatons to do all the fighting. It might be worth it getting that 9 charisma or whatever it takes to get Sogg onboard though, just so you can survive until that happens. Once you get Velorien's blessing you'll actually be rather useful in a fight, but that's a bit late into the game. Let the automatons have all the fun.
