Which stats must I have to make Kerghan cancel his plan ? Now I am playing
with a hobbit with 20 char, 20 itel, 20 will, and mastery of persuasion. Would it be enough ?

 

No - you need 20 strength to intimidate him too.

 

Don't forget about the 20 beauty. Kerghan has a thing for little boys and halflings.

 

And you need to be naked. Utterly naked. And you need a naked Vollinger, a naked Tollo and a naked... What´s that other halfling guy called? the one on the bridge to Vendigroth?

And you neéd to be scarred, have a crippled arm and leg, and so on.
Why, you might just ask. Here´s the answer:

Kerghan is a sadist. He likes to watch those small naked halflings get hurt. He LOVES it.

Don't forget the Dark Toll boots, cause he does ask you to take your shoes off when you apporach. Then comments on your fine choice of footwear.

the funny thing is that he´s not really evil. He just has his theory, that life is a suffering and yada yada yada...
btw, his theories somehow reminds me of the filossofies of the Buddhists...

And of course I performed some of Kerghan's deeds in my autumn vacations. Kiliing of soul,. for example... And wrote a small one-act play of course ....

 

The first time I played Arcanum and saw Kerghan's slideshow and heard his theory, I fully agreed with him. I kinda sorta still do. It's really well said and - basically - it's true. The only thing that pisses me off is that more than half of your party starts kicking your arse when you agree to do as Kerghan says. And that Virgil starts whining like a little sissy girl. I really don't know why I never just kill that creep at the very beginning of the game, somewhre random at the crash site, for instance. :/

 

How are we supposed to increase our number of posts then?

In my opinion, someone truly evil is evil because he likes to be. If you think you're doing the right thing, you're just confused.

Sephiroth has the cooler theme song, he would win.

 

I go with Vyennas idea, it makes the most sense.
But Kerghan is not evil, not in any anpect. I just don´t go with his idea.
But then again, he has some more experiance than most of us (save Virgil, but I usually kill of that creep in the beginning for additional xp...)
so he might just be right.

And that would be horrofying.
