I know that most of the Americans don't drink, and some have never drunk real tea (not one of those Chinese grassy things) so I am going to start this thread to promote Tea! This post is not supposed to make you drink tea, it's just gonna show how much tea is better than everything else.

Ok so... Tea is the best drink ever invented... you can even drink it on hot days - cooled if you like. Water is sometimes better but we aren't talking about that right now. Coffee... don't really like it, as for American Coffee... that's just water with black paint, it seems, but it tastes worse. Not coffee at all. Besides tea has more coffeine, for those who drink coffee to stay awake...

Tea is versatile! You can drink it with milk, condensed milk, sugar, lemon, jam, alot of other things you can dump in there. Also toast is nice to go along... Or some desert.

I also would like to promote elephants, sheep, and bunnies with this post. Olde Sheepe: The Scrotum Pad TM and Wolpal Wabbit TM, in particular.

Chinese grassy things? Would that be Green tea you are referring to? Ugh Gar no... err nevermind.

I have simple tastes and am quite happy with plain old Orange Pekoe. Drink it hot by the cup when its cold and iced by the gallon when its hot. As you said truly a versatile drink.

I don't think Tea and milk is too popular here in the states. Although we do have a nice little Tibetan restaurant here in town that serves Black(I think) tea and milk. Its far better than what I thought it would be.

But coffee less caffeine? Black paint? My standard is that a spoon placed in the cup should stand upright shortly before it dissolves and the caffeine levels should be high enough to restore life to dead. I have an old fashioned electric percolator I've kept through the years just for this purpose. Trick is you add a tablespoon or two of vanilla to kill the bitterness.

By grassy things I mean any tea that's not brown/black. You know those Earl Grey things and Indian dark teas... those are the real things. About caffeine... that actually depends but some tea is higher than some coffee. Tea is better though...

I like your new pic Jar, but the signature is still the same.

Mine is the sig of the month

Ioo Coffine? you're Russian stick to what you know, vodka. Earl Grey is Brown/black so hah, all it is tea with bergamont oil, yum.
Really the drink that is superior in all ways is beer. I mean come on does tea make the fat chick next to you look hot? no way.

I wasn't talking about alcohol... Vodka doesn't increase your sensesation in anyway... depends on what you mean by senseation anyway.. Sensory system would do better here?.. And Yeah I know Earl grey is brown/black...isn that what I said?.... And Bergamont is cool, whatever that stuff is. And if you are talking about american beer.... eww

bergamot 1. A fine juicy variety of pear.
    2. A variety of orange (Citrus aurantium bergamia) whose rind yields an essential oil used in perfumery; also, the essence from this. 3. Any of several mints.

And yes mainstream American beer is barely a step above dog piss. Thank god for micro-breweries. My fine little burg is lucky enough to have two:) The better one makes a Java Porter only during the winter using , yes, coffee. Sounds repulsive but I can't even begin describe just how good it tastes. Odd for me since I prefer stouts and ales.

What's Bud? I think the best beer I ever had is called Spotted Cow from New Glarus outside of Madison WI. Since my favorite beers are IPAs and red ales I actually prefer American beer to others.

Tea is great, however spoiling it with milk, honey or anything other than lemon should be a crime.

"What's Bud?" Thats easy. Its dog piss diluted with rice water. RICE!? You don't make beer with rice, everyone knows that.

Actually Dragoon the tea and milk is pretty good.

I used to dilute tea with Yukon Jack or was it the other way around?

Tea is almost the only drink I drink. I have the occasional coffee, orange juice or water, but mainly it is just tea, tea, tea - all day long.

Milk isn't essential, but it's the way I prefer it.

Recently I have been trying a green blend. Not green, but brown blended with green. It's low caffeine.

In South Africa they have an equivalent of tea called Rooibos (meaning "red bush") which they say is caffeine free. I have tried it and it tastes pretty good.

Earl Grey and Orange Pekoe are both great. I tried one called "Russian Caravan" which was probably an in-house blend from the place I bought it. It was okay, but not as nice as normal blends (Assam, for instance).

I'm not much of a tea man, but the Chinese sure have a lot of varieties of herbal teas.

To me, tea is tea. Beer is not beer though. I have never heard of a halfway decent American beer before. There are many fine Australian beers though  (Foster's is not an example of a fine Australian beer. Once upon a time it may have been, but no longer).

Hm... Russian Caravan? Tea doesn't grow in Russia. We have some nice tea in Russia, but that's because we import it from the places it does grow in. And, usually, it's manufactured on the spot too, so we get the bags or the dryed leaf stuff ready to be put in the water.... Well the leafs you have to put a tea pot and make tea out of them there. Lemon is best...

I don't think it was called "Russian Caravan" because it was grown in Russia. Generally, names like that are used because the particular way of blending it is popular in a partilcular situation. Like the blend called "English Breakfast."

Some of them are named after the places it is grown, like "Kenyan" and "Assam," but it doesn't sound like the Russian Caravan is one of those. Maybe I'll try to find out what was in it. I may still have the packet around here somewhere.

I can't say I understand drinking tea with milk - I tried it and it tastes terrible. It's your choice though - even though it's a very wrong one :p

As for other possible add-ons rum is good especially on cold days.

As for beer - if any of you visits Poland be sure to check out "Zywiec". It's definitely THE bestest beer around.
