is there a map of arcanum that has all the place names put on properly not like node things in game (and by properly i mean in the same style as the arcanum word on the map)
I remember seeing someone's help picture of the map with all names (all places explored) a couple years ago on a walkthrough or locations webpage.
Lets see. I just undatted Arcanum.dat the other day and found the .bmp files for the blank world map in one of the new folders. Is that what you want?
It sounds like the OP wants the Arcanum map with the names of all locations labeled in the same font as the word 'Arcanum' already occurring on the map. I can only guess that he would like this so he can print it and have a realistic looking map of 'Ye Olde World Arcanum' in order to impress his friends. And I would certainly like a copy for myself!
Here's a larger and more easily readable one: http://mikesrpgcenter.com/arcanum/maps/arcanum_large.jpg
You know I'll have a couple of Carlton Draughts too many and go Ned Kelly on you if I ever go down under, don't you?
As some may have seen, that arcanum_large.jpg is missing a few sites: Dark Elf Camp, Lair of Bogaroth, Gorgoth(?) Pass, Secret Entrance to the Iron Clan, Stringy Pete's quest locations, a couple master quest sites. I don't mean to quibble, just being thorough. Anyway, one of the things I was working on this past week was to find a way to add the "secret" sites to the world map once you go there, but without success. I found the one map file .mes which lists the places and the coordinates, but adding to that didn't work, so something else must be needed, or it doesn't work with saved games.
Still, it would be friggin' awesome to have it on display on the wall. In fact, it's probably better off without all the locations cluttered on it.
If I ever gain any access to the right equipment, I'll print a big-ass map of Arcanum to cover an entire wall.
How long would Sierra have rights to the image anyway? Because once that lapses we can just outsource the poster printing to a printing company and order a box of them which we can then sell and gain a little more cash to keep this place up and running.
I love the idea, though I fear that the market we have is the perhaps 15 diehard fans that frequent this forum.
Well, we could claim "aliens" gave us the map and say that it's a map of the only continent on their planet...
