Is it just me, or is the XP system in arcanum EXTREMELY skew

There has been something bugging me for a long time, after all those trips accross the world map and all the stupid ailing wolves and other level 1-10 creatures that attack me, I have been getting XP!! Not a sliver of xp, but TONS of xp. this happens when I am level 40... And I'm killing them in 1 hit too.. it doesnt make sense hehe :smile:

 

Sooo, you just learned that Arcanum is not a balanced game right? Try playing a non-melee techie and you'll get plenty of worthy opponents. Ailing wolves and kite warriors won't be a challenge but some lord's slaves or even a grup of skeletons will give you something to think of. You won't have problems with too much XP anymore. And even though egtting XP for low level foes will still be unrealistic you'll see that it's also quite useful.

 

Like how much Xp are we talking, in terms of % of the small bar. Is it half a bar. A hole bar. A liitle bit of the bar. I know you can't get a number but how much in general. I don't seem to have that problem. I get about half a bar from killing 4 or 5 wolfs with a fireflash. thats not much

I am going to take a guess and say that you have the level cap hack installed. If that is the case then the XP chart/level is lower. Therefore you move closer to gaining a level with less XP.

 

nope, I don't have the cap installed. It just seems to me, that in most roleplaying games, when you are high level, killing something extremely low level shoudl give you little or none xp, while in arcanum, it gives you a decent amount.

 

I noticed that, and I like it. It keeps things moving and progressing, even if the balance and realism is a bit off.

 

hey, if it does you good, why complain?

 

i'm not complaining ;o) I'm just saying that it seems weird.
