Is it really possible or good to have a world free from problems? Hate, violence, disease, corruption etc.

I dont think so. If everything was perfect, we wouldnt have need of close emotional bonds or friendship or anything like that. When bad things like an accident or natural disaster, people are drawn closer to other people. So if the world was perfect, we wouldnt have close bonds with people and then some sleazeball would come along and take advantage of that then cause problems and youd end up where we are now. So in a sense, having problems keeps things stronger. Also things like disease, war, fammine, disasters keep population levels from getting out of control so we dont end up fucking ourselves into extinction.

In other words, kill the next person. It makes life easier for you.

Your understanding of this 'we're avoiding overpopulation through natural diasters' approach isn't very high is it? The planet Earth can only sustain a maximum limit of 14 billion people and assuming that our rate of technological increase continues at it current exponential trend, that means that we only have a maximum of 15-20 years left before we run out of resources.

    Four solutions present themselves:

    1. Find a new planet for colonisation.
    2. Nuke China.
    3. Nuke America.
    4. Nuke both America and China, and solve 95% of the worlds' total problems....

And causing brand new ones! That's not exactly feasible, how about just spreading propaganda like: smoking is good; your neighbour's trying to kill you, maybe you should do it first...

Has anyone else here read the Foundation series?

I'm not going to start ranting about Second Empires and Perfect Worlds and such if no-one understands...

HOLY SHIT, THE KING OF IDIOTS HAS RETURNED!

Seriously, YeaYea, how stupid can you be? You think you can sum up why the world can't be perfect in a single paragraph? I won't even bother taking apart your flawed theories and commenting on them - the brick wall surrounding your mind and keeping it fresh so that it can be used in a true emergency is impenetrable.

Would just like to participate in the madness.
The reason why there is problems in the world is actually: small penises. All menn think they have small penises and they work for trying to get respect in other ways. eks nice cars or power. The real motivation for any man to be president is the fact that he gets this huge four wheled-penisenlarger with a huge penis-enlarging army ect ect.

Theory number two: We are all under direct control by a machine that is located in råneå, sweden. The machine is controlled by a geek by the name of Hanshishos Oljansonsons. Who is impotent and has decided that since he has a problem everyone shall have problems. Also it makes every male human unable to disobey women with big breasts.

Yes I have read the Foundation series. First I donot think any math can perfict the future history with any accurately. History does repeat itself but only the tends in history repeat themself but not alway the same way as the last one did. All great empire raise reach they height and then decline. Afew can repeat this afew time before disappearing forever, some only do this once before disappearanceing forever.

Ahhhhhhh...I don't think ANYONE, and I mean that in a literal sense, actually thought that the Hari Seldon mathematical approach would work in real life, because we all know that it won't.

Anyway, I was referring(?) to Gaia, Galaxia and the three-way standoff: The First Foundation Second Empire, Second Foundation Second Empire, and Galaxia. Any thoughts?

First off we donot even know that faster than light travel by ship is even possible, near light speed travel is possible in the far future. FTL travel was invertion by science fiction authors to get round some pretty tought problen while writeing story.

    ummm... yeah.

a perfect world is not possible because humans like to complain. if we didn't have anything to bitch about, we'd invent something to bitch about.

I don't think the world will ever be perfect as long as there's humans living in it. Seems to me the dinosaurs had a pretty swell time and all, before the meteor hit of course.

I still think that the penis theory is most likely.
