I really need help, please read

Hey everyone, I'm new to this site, however, I am in "Master" Status with Arcanum, and have beaten it about eight times. However, this is the first game where I actually want to add some hacks to it, and for the most part, hacks have been successful. However, there is a few hacks that I am really having trouble with, could you please give me some directions. (I have Arcanum 1.0.7.4)

I need help with the hack where you download all those portraits. My game doesnt read them at all.

Also, how do I install that hack where all shopkeepers carry EVERYTHING they possibly can every day, so you dont have to sleep a million times. Its the hack thats titled Syntax: or whatever when you click on it, and has all those numbers.

Another thing, I desperatley need help with the Hellgate hack. I've installed it and it works perfectly, however, I dont know how to progress. I start at the beginning where there is a monk in a campsite, and after I go through the dialogue, I can never find the darn mountain pass. All I find is a cave saying "chrisbeddoes was killed by cow king not diablo." can someone please give me a hint or something?

Forums go both ways. The question gets posted here, if other people have problems similar to yours, i'm sure they'd like the answer to be posted here as well.


I've installed the shopkeeper hack and it works just fine, what exactly are you having trouble with?

 

How do you install it?

Could you give me the directions to install it? It is NOT the hack that allows shopkeepers to get rare items, its the one that makes the shopkeeper have all their items every day. :throwup:

if it's the same file that I got there will be 3 files. InvenSource1.mes, InvenSource2.mes and readme.txt.

Copy InvenSource2.mes to ($ARCANUMDIR)/data/rules/ (e.g. c:/sierra/arcanum/data/rules)

if /data/rules doesn't exist, create it.

rename InvenSource2.mes to InvenSource.mes

start arcanum

I specifically said that that was NOT the one I was talking about. The instructions your giving me are to the one to allow extra items. Its the OTHER shopkeeper hack I'm talking about.

 

Specifically? You said it wasn't that one, that's not very specific. I know of no shopkeeper hacks other than the one BadKarma mentioned, and he gave perfectly good instructions on how to install it.

Whatever shopkeeper hack it is you're talking about, it goes in the /data/rules directory if it's a .mes file.
