How to get Magnus Shale Fist?

Apparently Magnus doesn't want to join me, is there something wrong with what Quest I had done before I get my hands on the necromancer jewelers? Or does my character build matters?

If the latter does, my char is a Female Half-elf with Chartalan's Protege background, currently expert in Persuation. And my current followers are Virgil, Sogg, and Dog.

I'm currently at Level 5.

I know I have to search for some old threads regarding Magnus, but for some reason I just couldn't find the answer that I am looking for so I just post this anyway.

It could be that your level is too low (his starting level is 8 I think), or that you have evil alignment. I would imagine with being a persuasion expert you'd have the charisma to support another follower, max followers can be found the character sheet.

 

Evil alignment, or I think too much magic will also stop him from joining.

 

You need to be at least level 7 to get him join.
