I've been playing around with WorldEd, and I'm trying to build this mod up a bit... problem is, I don't know how to make book text that works, and I can't seem to find a way to do it either. Didn't see anything about it here, so apparently either no one uses books (yeah right), or it's simple and I just missed it somewhere (hopefully). Could someone who's gotten it to work gimme a tad bit of help please?
I know that's in Amtut, but I it involves going into your mod files, finding the gamebook file, in rules i think, but I'm not sure, and adding the book you want. If the book is particularly long, break it into groups. I don't use alot of book, my mods usually have simple enough plots that can be relayed through dialouge. Well, that is, the mods I'm MAKING have simple plots, yet to get some time to wrap them up.
Alrighty, I've found the books file thing in the .mes folder, but what exactly do I put here to make it so that I can fill the book with whatever I type? It seems like there should be another file with the actual book book (title, and which lines go with it), but I can't find it anywhere, and there's not really any help anywhere. I can do notes just fine (it has an example in the .mes for notes), but for books there isn't such an example. Anyone know?
DU has a post about AMTUT, I think it's even sticky so you won't have trouble finding it. Go to AMTUT look it up. I don't want to sound like an asshole, but I don't feel like dredging for examples, and I don't remember off-hand. If you're as far into a mod where your worried about books, you probably know what AMTUT is, and in it, 3rd chapter I believe are detailed instructions on making a book, DU even put in a sample book.
While I hadn't actually gotten that far in DU's stuff, I did figure it out myself yesterday. As I had expected, it was a stupid overlook on my behalf (the little number box wasn't really what I expected, but that was my mistake). Anywho, as a side note, I love your guide DU. Very helpful, and very comprehensive. I hadn't gotton nearly that far though (and indeed, didn't know that there was another section past the second page). Thanks for putting together a really useful little bit of info there.
