how do you preserve saved games with the 1.0.7.4 patch? als

I just downloaded the Arcanum 1.0.7.4 patch, but I am hesitant to install it before I check with someone who knows: how do I keep all my saved game data, so that I will still have my games when I upgrade? I am very far in the game, and I REALLY don't want to have to go through it all again. Also, I have a question about a bug in the game, which I mentioned in an earlier post, but no one responded. When I talk to Alexander (high acolyte of the First Panarii Temple), my intelligence stat drops to 1 for no apparent reason, and doesn't return to its original level (11). Is this, in fact, a bug, and if so, will the 1.0.7.4 patch fix it? Is there any way I can keep this from happening without upgrading? HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

 

Why don't you move your save game file to than other folder in than other dir not part of Arcanum. That what I do to my outpost savegame
when I uninstall outpost but want to keep the save game files impact.
