Take off all your followers' weapons and have them bash it while you join in (take your weapon off too, in this case)/use magic/shoot a gun. If you're going solo, you could also run from them; they're none too quick.

Are you a tech ot a mage? My anti-golem tactic for a tech is usually cornering the beast and hurling Molotovs at it- when I don't have an LGR or a Compound bow that is. Or you can let your followers attack the golem first, then they'll take all his attention, and you can shoot it or cut it into pieces (preferably with something that does fire damage, their fire resistance is relatively low). If you're a mage, use Entange to freeze the golem in place, and cast harm or fireflash from a safe distance. Another effective way is blocking the golem's way with the Wall of Force- and yet again hitting him with spells. If you're a frontal assault melee type, drink a potion of Haste and throw a Stun grenade.

And if all these fail you, RUN!

You can easily run past ALL the Golems and everythings else in the BMC, and when you enter a door, they dont follow you. Just run past them to the last area, then run back, or use some teleport or exiting spell if you are a mage and have it.

If you're a mage and don't have spells like Stun, Entangle etc. try summoning a few critters to keep the golem busy while casting direct damage spells like Harm or Fireflash...

This is, however, not the best solution but even with the weak Summon Undead (and Harm) I could take down one or two golems at a time. And on the plus side your weapon isn't damaged.

Arcane Weapons aren't damaged either. Or so I'm told.

I've never found any Arcane weapons or armor. I wonder where you get them...

Harm isn't weak! It's one of the best and strongest spells if you get a high magickal aptitude.

the definitive best way is disingernate, thats if you have that spell, but if you don't, use a gun.

All over the place. Most Arcane stuff is random and found in the chests- mostly in places like the Ancient Temple and the Lair of Bellerogrim. Stringy Pete's ghost is wearing Arcane helm, shield and sword, so just for three fate points you can get full equipment. Master mages in Tulla are mostly dressed in Arcane robes, one even has it in the inventory. Almost all of them carry Arcane swords, staves or daggers. The Cursed Paladin in the Bangellian Deepth has an Arcane axe. A dead ogre in the sewers of Caladon has Arcane gloves. And of course, check out the goods the Wise Women have for sale once in a while

If your a techy all manner of explosive grenades work well. Back the day the Long Range Rifle could take one down in two or three shots. The Pyrotechnic axe works wonders on them. (if you have a high enough TA that is). Elephant gun works well...... hell even a fine revolver will take one down, just be sure you got plenty of ammo. As for Mages, I usually go with harm or other such spells. Even swords will work well as long as you have enough strength to take it down before your sword takes to much damage.

Bah. My usual routine lately is setting Dog and Virgil with the filiment sword on the buggers. It doesn't take that much damage, and we always finish the mines with it intact.

If you've been to Vendigroth, the Warbringer works like a dream on them. Also, the Looking Glass Rifle and 20 Intelligence is divine.

Just for the record, I never said Harm was weak - it's maybe a bit boring but I'm well aware of its power...
The weak spell I was referring to was Summon Undead which compared to other summoning spells, fx Guardian Ogre, is rather weak.

I may have been a bit unclear on this, sorry.

It's a random item determined by your name, species, and whatnot. I've found a variety of arcane items in the sewers and other places.... What's a shocker is for somebody NEVER to find any random arcane goodness.

*wonders whether Xento has actually played Arcanum*

If they never find any items then they aren't looking! heh If you don't wander around you might miss out on alot of items. Then complain that they can't find anything! Some items are always in the same location like the good old banefuls!

Which is weird, because Warbringer is VERY tech. When a played a mage and made one of those, the aptitude to critical failure was over 50%.

    lol good point Solaris
ranged attacks are best against them with some melee fighters in front
the best melee fighter to use against them is dog who is found in ashbury
Dog is great against them because he has no items that can be broken.
e.g.Golems damage your equiped items and some other monsters in the mine do damage to equiped items as well.
 When you finish the mine repair your followers and your characters equiped items because they will be most likely damaged. :D
remember Stillwater is close to this mine so if you need supplys you can go there or to sell items found in the mine.
here's Stillwater location if you have not found it yet W: 1190 S : 753

I also suggest giving your melee fighters cheap weapons because sometimes when they hit the Golems it damages them and be careful of the traps in this mine. :D

With firearms mastery and 20 intelligence, I was getting over 100 to hit for ore golems and the like with the Warbringer. OBVIOUSLY don't use it with a mage, SHEESH.

I didn't say I USED it with a mage, but Ore Golems are known to be magickal, and therefore harder to hit with tech weapons. Something as tech as a Warbringer and without any TH bonus should have been a bit problematic to use against high MA critters.

You said, "When a played a mage and made one of those, the aptitude to critical failure was over 50%." :)

Try it with a techie, it works great on all sorts of magickal critters. So does Bronwyck's Gun, I seem to recall. Maybe it's the elemental damage those guns inflict.

At high TA, your %TH magical critters with tech weapons goes up! That said, who has gotten to the BMC mines at 100% TA? Not me.

Mele fighters, nutral or tech, should use magic or nutral weapons for those critters. At TA 50%, your chance TH with a Pyro Axe is 0. As far as dings in the blade, Sog once shaved over 60 HP off the Sword of Baltar in the BMC, but the junk dealer in Tarant patched it up loosing only 2 HP in the process.
