How can I miss him if he won't leave?

I have played through twice now, once with a mage and one with a tech and both times Virgil has stayed with me the whole time. I thought if you followed the good track he left at some point. Why won't he go?

 

Why not simply ask him to leave? Or better yet, kill the chinese, communist, pinko, bastard, faggot, son of a bitch!

I Don't mind him tagging along, it keeps me from having to think about healing, I just wondered why I never to see that part of the story line.

 

He should leave after the dark elf city, T'sen-Ang. He left me once with a 40% Evil PC as well!???

Thirdly - I've always played with Virgil and he always left me after I was finished with T'sen-Ang, and I got him back in Caladon. However, I have heard that sometimes your followers will NEVER leave you if you have a charisma of 20, or was that master persuasion? Or both? Do you have either of these? that MAY be your problem. Then again, it could be a bug. Do you have the latest Arcanum patch installed?

 

its ch 20 to make them always stay, master persuasion makes anyone join you. when i left tsen ang virgil did leave but when i went to caladon and ressurrected him and heard his story, elder joachim didnt show up like ive heard hes supposed to
