How can i increase Companions reaction to me?

the only way i can keep say Chukka around is by wearing my smoking jacket, is there some other way to improve his attitude toward me?

 

Invest level-up points in Beauty (i.e. get plastic surgery).

 

I tried that. The game popped up a message saying "Player too ugly. Try something else."

 

Or simply get 20 cha and never have a follower leave you again, unless you tell them to.

 

How are you too ugly to become pretty?

 

What hell background did you choose? Troll Offspring? Beaten with an Ugly Stick?

Otherwise, unless their reaction is very low on suspicious and dwindling into "Dislike", just ignore their reaction. I finished the game with Sogg Mead Mugg "suspicious" at me the whole time...

Getting your followers killed (by someone else, NOT killing them yourself) and resurrecting them improves their reaction.

Wear a Medallion of Beauty, or the Jewel of Hebe, or the Caladon Crusader Chainmail.

 

I have 14 charisma and 8 beauty, Chukka's reaction is at 38 but even then only because of the smoking jacket. Hes reaction has always been that low but thanks for the suggestions.

 

Try Charm. It is heavily bugged even in version 1.0.7.4, and it will raise NPCs' reaction permanently (except Dog and Torian Kel if I remember correctly; I think Dog is bugged in a way that his reaction is actually lowered by more BE).

 

Maybe he is supposed to be this way. He is a dog, after all. The more dog-like you look, the more he likes you.

 

there are even objects you can buy to improve some members reaction...

like with that dark elf chick all i had to do was give her the Elven spring water.
