Hey guys I just signed up, I have had Arcanum since it came out but due to the bugs (and my old computer ---Area 51 now Yippee---) I haven't played it extensively until the last couple weeks. I have to say I was completely amazed out how much fun it was once I got into it. It is easy to forget the graphics or the silly animations, none of that matters once you are immersed in the world (In a way all that kinda adds to the fun). It's a great game and I am now an instant fan P.S. Should I introduce my character here or in the RP forums? I am not planning on starting a thread I just like to write little stories to introduce my characters.
Area51? You mean Alienware? Can you give us a few more details? On a side note, I heared AOL is giving out computers to new users for free. The computers aren't great, but not totally half-assed either. A monitor with a color printer... Celeron 1.7, 256 ram, hdd 40gb XP home and Star Office.
Errr mine is a 2.8ghz P4 w/ 1024 DDR-RAM + GeForce FX 5900 Ultra 256 megs of RAM, 80 gig HD and a partridge in a pear tree, got it a couple months ago... I had to save up way too long for it LOL

It is shockingly laggy to play ToEE with a geforce 2 isnt it? The cursor lags with mine and makes it feel like everything is all floaty... Really frustrating, especially considering the game is 2d essentially. Battlefield 1942, Morrowind, and Unreal Tournament 2003 all run perfectly, but this 2d game lags. :thumbdown:
Yeah my old comp has a geforce 2 in it, runs most things fine although Halo looks like crap lol. I just get off on high resolutions and framerates in the triple digits... as for affording it, well after I bought it I had 20 bucks left to my name LOL. I ate ramen for a few weeks too, it was worth it tho. Who woulda thought buying a computer can help you lose weight! yeah, I'm a geek p.s. the lack of any negative feedback on my story tells me that posting it in RP was the proper thing to do, I hope...

Nice system, Sinistrad. Welcome to the forum. I build custom computers for fun, so I'll let you guys know what I have going next time I build a new system. My current one is getting kind of old.
Not for me. My system has a Geforce 2 MX200 graphics card, an AMD 1200 MHz processor and like 384 MB worth of RAM, and it handles ToEE just fine. Of course, I run it on the lowest possible resolution... Yes, I would bloody well want to do an upgrade. But there always seems to be better uses for the cash flow, so that has to wait a while yet. Oh, and Sinistrad, welcome to the boards. :wavey: You took your name from the first Death Gate Cycle book right? Great books by the way! EDIT: Bugger! Silvara beat me to mention the Death Gate Cycle! On the computer discussion, Alienware sucks. It's not that they build crappy computers, saying that would just be wrong. They merely charge WAY too much. They build quality computers, but they could sell them for thousands less.
