...removed your pubic hair?

There comes a time in every man's life when they are faced with a pivotal question: should I or should I not remove my pubic hair? For me today I was faced with that same dilemma, and upon momentarily weighing my options I found no earthly reason not to do so. I know I start many [Topic Title]... threads, but for once I felt that the content was worthy of the suspense created by such a device.

Now I know what you might ask "Why? Why would you do this to yourself Jojobobo?" So, I'll tell you why. Far from wanting the loins of a porn star, for years I have suffered with an affliction; an affliction most shameful. You see ladies and gentlemen, I am a shedder - and no, not of the normal kind of hair. For hours before a relative visits I will sweep the hardwood floors of my flat only to find when they arive that their eyes fix upon something, something which through polite social conventions they do not feel they can talk about; but I know in their heart of hearts they desperately want out of their sight. I no longer wish to feel the looming fear of uncertainty about whether or not my curly hairs are hiding in the shadowy corners of my house; and so today I took the necessary steps of manning-up and doing what I had to.

How, how was this possible? Veet my friend, Veet. It worked remarkably well, allowing me to whip off those unsightly hairs in a flash. My only advice to someone partaking in a fellow hair-removal experience would be to leave the cream on for longer than advised (pubic hairs are around 30 microns thicker than normal body hairs, duhh) and not to allow the cream to linger overly long in the crevices of the scortal sack. I would also recommend that you buy the sensitive skin version of the cream; though the red whorls of burst capillaries arising from the normal skin version aren't too painful currently, I may suffer come morning.

I was surprised however when it came to exposing myself to my significant other; apparently rather than thinking I was like the adult movie star which - as an added bonus - I hoped I might represent, I was more reminiscent of an 8 year old boy. Do you too feel, despite what popular culture deems normal, that shaved pubic areas unattractive? The sheer need for practicality in this instance put the cost of my balding above and beyond what she found desirable. As I said before, I did what I had to.

I have gone on, and you may wonder why I shared this? I will say mostly out of boredom, but also significantly out of the desire to make others feel uncomfortable/aroused. Still above all else, aside from everything I have shared, the glaring question still remains:

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: Most muslims shave down because of hygeine. Beauty aside, keeping an extra ten thousand times the surface area around your funky bits is dirty.

Having been an hirsute beach bum for some time now, I tend to shave down in summer and cultivate a fine coat in winter. This is mostly due to the sunscreen dilemma: Spread a little all over your whole body or else waste a lot on a small patch of chest hair. Then, having shaved down that far, I figure why not keep going?

Plus, you gain an inch or two visually and, to quote a drunk from reality tv, "if she looks at it, and sees it's maintained, she thinks, 'well, I may as well suck that.'" Another quote, from Superhero Movie, I think, is "Oh, and shave your pubes, no-one likes going down on a haystack."

 

See I contemplated shaving but I had a UTI due to an ingrown hair at about age 10 and so having an elderly male doctor cup my swollen balls has always put me off. Are ingrown hairs a common issue when shaving, or does it just vary from person to person how often it occurs? Also, razor blades are expensive.

I don't know how muslims deal with it, probably like maniacs, using cut-throat razors or something. I shear, personally, and the same for my face. A close clip is close enough.

No. I never done that. It may be clean or hygienic and it may lower the chance to get louse or anything there. But I never found it manly or cool enough to do this.

Anyway, it's not about being judged, it's about being found attractive. If someone doesn't care about that, then they can do what they like. However, if they do want to be found attractive then it's a good idea to conform to what people find attractive. Duh.

But I never shave completely. I let a thin fluff. Shaving entirely make the thing look too childish in my opinion and not very sexy.

 

It never ceases to amaze me how people can be so smug about doing what everyone else does simply because everyone else is doing it. I suppose it is a survival trait and that, by and large, the mob is the safest place to be.

By definition, a delusion shared by society can not be considered insanity and anyone who doesn't share in the collective delusion is, by definition, insane, so I cannot by definition say that the majority of society is insane, but they are, really.

Ultimately, my opinion is autistic: Second guessing mob opinions is a waste of my giant brain. It's shallow, superficial and boring. I prefer the privelege of independent thought and self-esteem to the warm glowing warming glow of fitting in.

Hey I am doing what I like, having a child-like penis (obviously apart from its herculean proportions) is apparently not what women are looking for these days; at least ytzk understands. I think I just have weak hair follicles, I can pull a surprising amount of hair from my head with little to no pain.

About the whole conformity issue, though I don't think it's good to conform to society's norms I don't think striving against them and trying too hard to be individualistic is a good thing either. I always thought it was better to not really consider how you present yourself - this isn't the same as not caring about what people think as I do in general but tending to the extreme in either direction is never a good thing. I'm also not making any assumptions about ytzk's character, I'm sure you don't try too hard to be an individual.

I don't ask my significant other to shave entirely, she trims when she wants to and how much she wants to, and that's her choice not mine. Neither my head hair or armpit hair sheds shitloads like my pubic area; and after trying trimming I still found I shed a lot, just the hairs were shorter. This was a practicality issue purely.

I consider smoothly shaved bodies generally sexier, male or female.

Me, I like to shave my armpits, perineum and the area surrounding the anus because it makes my feel more attractive and hygienic. It also makes both my lady (physically) and myself (mentally) more comfortable that her tongue won't think it's licking dogs during bedroom sessions.

As for pubic hair in particular, I shaved it all away once out of curiosity. The result left both myself and my other with mixed feelings. Fingers liked it both ways, it was more pleasant for the tongue, but looked kinda meh. A erect cock looks tastier when it's surrounded by smooth skin, but a flacid one looks kinda sad without at least a bit of hair around it. Decided to stay with trimming it fairly short for now.

 

I'm not going to lie, the mental picture wasn't great. Licking dogs is just nasty.

I think a very close trim is the key, currently I'm quite itchy. I assumed that using Veet to remove hair wouldn't cut them at weird angles and poke them under the skin like shaving so they become ingrown - but currently it doesn't feel like that is true. Maybe a decent pair of trimming scissors would suit.

I think this just goes to show if there's any place that you can post weird details about yourself and get informative and candid responses, it's HoL.

I shaved my groin before, about 11 years ago. Didn't like it. However, I trim there now, as well as my chest hair, and am unfortunately forced to shave portions of my chest so the hair is symmetrical on both sides of my ventral area. I'm weighing the pros and cons of laser hair removal on my scrotum - the reason being, my hair will occasionally knot and catch something. Not a fun experience while doing any every-day activity.
