hi, sorry about being new and all. im a big fan of Arcanum, though i have never made it past blackroot. Anyhoo, my question is, why does the game bogg down so freakin much when im in town? When i get to tarant, or other large town the game starts to drag almost frame by frame, my friend had a great pc and says he experienced the samething and said that the game was just done poorly. Can this be true, id die for fast arcanum! help please
I think that there are some memory leakage problem in the game, if you play a long enough session, the game runs slow no matter what computer you have. When it slows down, try saving the game, exiting it and starting it up again loading your save. You are patched and everything, right?
When a game released in 2001 can make a 3GHz processor judder to a halt you know something isn't right. Actually SockMonkey (the script maker that comes with Arcanum) does the same thing. It sucks up all the memory available so that loading a web page takes about a minute.
