Game error

My problem is when I play arcanum normaly. In many locations I go everything goes black and this thing apears

I tried everything i can do borow my friends cd but the same. Plz help me with it

Are you using Windows XP with Service Pack 2?

If you are, that might be the problem.

 

I'm using service pack 2 but i don't think thats the problem, because i played arcanum with servise pack2 when it was ok

 

I have that exact same problem. However, it happened so infrequently that utilizing the quick save feature early and often fixed the problem well enough for me. If you make sure to save frequently, you should only lose maybe a minute or two, tops, as long as it doesn't happen very often.

 

But i get this error everywhere i go

 

Not perhaps applicable to this topic, but I get that damn info box every now and then in a lot of programmes. It's no fun at all, so I'll happily look here for clues as to what might be the problem.

 

I'm having a related problem- I just installed the full version of Arcanum after having the demo for several months. The demo still works- sometimes. The full version, on the other hand, doesn't even TRY to work. Click the icon in start menu, get hourglass thing for a couple of seconds, then nothing. I've checked Task Manager, and there is literally NOTHING related to Arcanum running at that point. I have XP, DirectX9.0c. There's no error message, so I have absolutely nothing to work with. Has anyone encountered, or better yet, surmounted, similar difficulties?

 

have you tried running in compatability mode?

 

yeah, I have. In that case, it gives me an actual error message, but still doesn't work.

 

and the message says?...
