I've tried it a few times, and nobody in the demo will Gamble with me, they say I don't have anything they want, but they'll pay over 800 for some of the things. How extravagant do they need to be?
The gambling skill isn't the problem, I purposefully made a character with a high gambling skill. I don't remember off hand what their haggling skill was.
Well then, I guess it's the training then. "Apprentice - people will gamble for more expensive items Expert - people will gamble away wielded items Master - people will gamble away things they would not normally sell"
Are you trying to gamble your stuff for money? Im not sure you can do that (tho i never tried  ) and dont forget that if you didnt have much haggling skill but you had a lot of gambling skill then if you are trying to gamble away your good then the value of 800 would not be the same value that they need to pay you for gambling. (i think) so they may not have enough money to back up your bet.
um, i don't you can gamble away your stuff, just their stuff anyway i must play the demo soon, but i'm still guessing that when you gamble, you gamble for their stock, and your money. you can offcourse sell your item back, and gamble for it yet again.
i noticed that with a extreme personality you can bring the smith to hate you, if you are too lucky. [ This Message was edited by: dormouse on 2001-05-19 07:15 ]
in the first beta, i made every shop keeper down to their knees, they all would have hated me, if it wasn't for the wondeus charm spell. oh the charm spell is toned down now, guess why? anyway it shouldn't be that hard to make 'em hate you, as they drop in reaction for each successfull win on your part.
