My empty new years promise is to teach as many people to read as possible. I'm starting with George Dubbya, and working my way from there.

New Year's resolutions are pretty asinine. What the hell is the point? Why don't people just do what they want to do when they think of it? The turn of the year means little when it comes right down to it. It's just a measure of time.

 

Don't get me started on my "Time doesn't exist" debate.

 

Time does exist you fool. If it didn't exist then everything that ever did and ever will occur would happen simultaneously.

Whether or not time exists is completely dependant on how you want to think of the changes you percieve around you. It could be a result of matter passing through a controlled state known as time, or it could just be a way of measuring the constant change of position and state of matter around you in a single constantly changing present. It doesnt really matter, because whatever it is, it will eventually kill you.

As for my socialist mindset, be afraid, be very afraid. I might go crazy and start thinking about the people around me before i think of myself, or I might pay my taxes or something, or... SHARE! <gasp> :lol:

As for new years... the whole celebration is a farce. You begin the year with a resolution such as "I'm going to lose 30 pounds this year." but by the end of the year you're at a new years eve party pigging out and getting drunk, just like last year, and you've still got that 30 pounds to shed. Its not the begining of a new year, its a slap in the face to the old one. The first thing you do to the new year is lie to it, and the last thing you do is get drunk and shoot off fire works at its funeral.

 

It's both Sleek, there is an absolute time, dating back from the creation of time itself, no one uses it because no one can count that high, and there is relative time, the time between two events. There is also perceived time, which we use with our clocks and such. (Wow don't I sound all scholaristical all of a sudden)

Sleek, you're so nice. The year has such a sad life you're going to give it a few jolly rides to make it feel better. You're such a humanitarian. (If it's father time, doesn't that make time male, and you gay for wanting to fuck it?)

Wolf, remember what, oh, half the members, have been saying about spam. It was spam that created non spam, but in itself, it's still spam. It's like if moss grows on spam. It's moss, not spam, but the nature of the spam remains unchanged. Plus, their short spam posts. Only 2 sentences and a fragment over a 2 post period. Chimps elaborate more!

Blinky... I'm not a necrophiliac, the old year is dead, I said fuck the new year, which is what everyone is going to do anyway, and therefore i can keep my dick dry. But I agree with you about the spam thing, but not care about it because I think I was in a pretty spammy place when I when i created this thread from the darkness of what came before it.

In conclusion, fuck the new year, and fuck hallmark cards.

 

Fuck the new year indeed. Who gives a shit about spamming anyway? I know I don't do it to increase my post count, as a few people seem to think that's the only reason. It's just the great feeling you get writing a pointless message.
