Is there a way to force the Vendigroth Ruins on your world map before the point in the main plot where you get it naturally? It seems there is, as the patch readme states, "Getting the Vendigroth device early will no longer invalidate later events," and somebody once whispered to me, "Ah, but Vendigroth can be forced!" in a conspiratorial sort of way. (Shadygrove, I think it was. Well, either Shadygrove or one of the other stops along the DC Metro route.... )

I've tried going to the coordinates (given in the TA Locationbank), but only got barren sand. Is there some trick that I've been missing out on? Perhaps if I go to the site of the Dark Elf camp first, I could get the Ruins on my map from the book.... What are the coordinates for the camp? I haven't played evil in a while, and it doesn't seem to be listed in the Locationbank....

    Any ideas?

So... you want to know how to force the Pit of Fires...? ...ah, wait. Dark Elf camp, here: (346W, 648S) :)

I've never tryied that... but to force the Vendigroth Ruins I go to Tulla, talk to Pelojian and he gives me the location. Maybe going to the Dark Elves camp you can do it too... but maybe the book won't appear if you go early... anyway you can try.

PS: To enter Tulla you must use the worldmap trick because the guard won't let you go in.

Sweet. :D Thanks much, I'll try it. Hope it's there though.... I must admit I stink at the world map trick. :???:

If you haven't gotten the Dark Elf Camp through the plotline, there will be an empty camp there.

    It's always an empty camp!

The only question is if the book will be there or not.

The barrel is empty too. I meant EMPTY.

Just checked with a PE 16 gunslinger. For him, at least, the ruins are not there either. Took about 5 min. real time to land inside Tulla. There is not one decent locksmith in the whole place, Vergil got the locks! (I have never tried the locks with him before.) You don't even have to look at the mural or read the poetry, just talk to the ghost.

I think I will push his PE to 20 & look again. I have heard that with enough PE, Vendigroth is visible. I think he has a few spare points laying about.

Just checked. At PE 20, + Eye gear, it can be found. It won't be there when you land, but tightly quartering the aera on the map will reveal the dot. Now to try the quartering at PE 16....

Did it. Try the quatering method. HoYC or Eye Gear will help.

I just found it with a 17 level with PE 8. Keep walking around the aera & the dot will show up. It was easier with the gunslinger.

Quartering? Do you mean, walking around in the vicinity of the Ruins will eventually reveal the location dot on the world map? :-?

It is possible? Well... then try doing the same to find T'sen Ang.
