I found maybe half a dozen or so before the point when you need them to get into black mountain clan, and not seeing a use for htem, and needing space for my precious loot and fatigue potions, I sold it. Now, I cant find ANY kathorn crystal, anywhere!

    Help?

I really dont want to have to use a cheat to get a stupid item that I would never have guessed I would need..

This sort of thing happens a lot, I searched for ages for one but then I discovered that one of the shopkeepers in Ashbury had two for sale (you only need one).

My advice is to keep examples of all the odd objects that you pick up that have no apparent purpose, there's various quests that need them and you NEVER get any prior warning. The Lava Rock and the Molochian Amulets are two examples of objects that you need to keep but there's plenty of others. What this game really needs are item descriptions like those in BG so you can have a chance of knowing why the hell they are needed.

BTW does anyone know what he toy train in the Wheel Dungeon is used for? It seemed to be the only object in a lethally trapped room but appears to be nothing more than a useless knick-knack (though my simple minded character thinks it's just great!)

    Toy Train...

One of the Dwarves down where you talk to the guy about retrieving the Durin stone will ask you to retrieve a family heirloom. The toy train is that heirloom.
