You know, I all too often find myself in games saying "this ____ is so much fun I wish I could use two of them!" Sadly, Arcanum isn't immune to my syndrome. http://pics.livejournal.com/rychek/pic/0002xe26/ One of the things I would have loved to have seen in Arcanum would have been the option to dual wield lighter weaponry. I understand that dual wielding hunting rifles would have been just silly... however, I can't help but think about how awesome it would have been to have the option to dual wield revolvers, daggers, balanced swords and so on. I think troika could have balanced out the bonuses of dual wielded attacks with a hit to a character's accuracy. Just always seems kinda silly that as a gun slinger I am either using a shield, Flow Specktrometer, a lantern, or an electric lamp. Hell, magic gets the ability to disintegrate people, I'm just sayin is all >_> Edit: You know oddly enough the more I think about this the more it holds true for games out there... Throughout the entire fallout series you can't dual wield anything... and that is an FPS /:
The main reason why we can't dual wield weapons in Arcanum is because the time that would have had to be spent on creating the insane amount of additional sprites was better spent on developing different aspects of the game. Dual wielding weapons would sure be fun, but since time was limited and it was either one thing or the other, I say the choice made was a good one. 3D games don't have such excuses, though. You did not just call Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics first person shooters.
You mean you haven't figured out how to make Fallout and Fallout 2 FPS? I'm very disappointed Muro, this is so not like you.
