I was just going through the CGW magazine (July issue) and saw small reference to the Arcanum demo. The magazine apologized for the mistake they did it and gave instruction how to make the game working. However this is not the interesting part, they also say that the working demo will be released in August issue. So if anybody miss the first demo, apparently we going to have another one.
Thanks for the heads-up, Sethmage. Any idea if that demo will, in any way, be different from the other one?
Why was that the only thing mentioned about Arcanum in the whole issue? *Staggers off mumbling to himself about importance in advertising, and how the last ad was in January or February.*
The whole article was maybe seven sentences long. I presume that this will be the same demo only working. The funny thing is they said that the release is for June, wishful thinking. Colonel - I'm also a little disappointed, however there was a big preview on Morrowind, after reading I'm seriously considering buying it.
I originally got the demo from CGW. I had to e-mail Seirra to get the solution. And then they just copied an pasted fom CGW's site.....
"Why is Calis quoting himself?", one might ask. Well, I sent off a little message to Adam Kahn at Sierra, and he sent me an answer. Apparently, the August CGW demo won't be different from the current one, it'll just have an installer that, well, works.
Bad thing about some of the demos that don't work from the magazines, don't install right, some games companies don't care. The s/w left their place working and the magazine screwed up. The problem is theirs to fix, not ours to have to deal with. Shitty attitude, but quite predominant in the computer industry overall.
