Finally downloaded the demo off Gamesmania and eagerly started the game up. But it's in slow-motion! It took me something like 25 minutes to get through the conversation with Virgil. I won't even go in to mouse- and scrolling speed. The machine I'm using is
AMD-K6 with 80 Mb RAM and plenty of harddisk space. I'm using DX7. I'm no Wiz-kid, so please help me!

What's the clock speed on your K6?
What video card are you using?
My first thought is that your 3D accelerator is incompatible or buggy with the game. If so, let them know so that they can patch it. Even if you're only running a 200Mhz machine, I don't think it should be that slow. But I think they changed the min to 266Mhz. Good Luck.

Haveing the same issue from time to time...Someone told me it was all about missing artwork....well I can see where it could be my 3d card...I have had problems with running a couple of other demos w/ Open GL (my card is a Vodoo2), but I have actually gotten through the demo 5 times...

CPU clock speed's 166. Card's a Cirrus Logic 5446 PCI, what ever that means. I've had no problems running BG2, IWD or PS:T. The latter incidently's one of my all time favorites, along with the FO1&2, so you can imaging that I'm looking forward to Arcanum a great deal.

Getting a slightly faster computer might help. Other than that, you might want to try and run it in software (safe) mode. I was a beta-tester back in November/December, and the beta ran fine in software mode on my AMD K6-2 350MHz machine with 96 megs of ram. So it's not like you need to pay insane amounts of money to run this baby.

    Hope this helps.

    Simple.

    You're running DirectX 7.x
You need 8.0 or higher. Get thee hence to the site of corporate fascism and download the latest version.
