At some points of game (starting at Isle of Despair, and carrying on through the game) i encounter unusual bug. When i am saving the game, little clock spins it hands in corner of the screen, and game asks me if i want to quit. I click no, and game asks me the same question again. From that time on, each time litle clock spins its hands, i get the same question. Reloading that game doesnt help. If it happens on the world map, the game will crash. Reloading save before the bug helps sometimes, but sometimes it gets corrupted too. I have the latest patch. Why is this happening, and is there any way to continue playing this save, or do i have to start from beggining?
It hasn’t happened to me since I reinstalled the game. Try going to the setup program and in the menu select Fix/repair whatever it says and then try the game again. This is also why I alternate between two saved games; if one gets messed up you load the other one and may only lose an hour or so. I hope this helps some.
I know this bug. I think it is caused by certain items in your inventory (the smoke grenade you find when looting corpses after the Firearms Master quest is especially nasty). I have NEVER- and I mean NEVER- encountered this bug after patching my game with 1.0.7.4. patch (and here I have to use the opportunity and thank Dark Elf again for making it possible). Just download the patch, and forget your worries.
If what I said doesn’t help, I would suggest downloading a new .exe file, the one I’m using at the moment is the “51-127 level” one from “Fileplanet.com”. It fix a lot of other bugs I had with the game. This is where you can find it and some other things. http://www.rpgplanet.com/arcanum/tinker ... erer.shtml
Thanks. Now i am sure it is caused by certain inventory items. For the first time a haven't picked up THAT smoke grenade, and the bug isn't happening. Just for case, in each new city i am saving in new slot Beside that smoke grenade, old revolver from Woman tribe at Isle of despair also causes that problem.
