crash site & shaman's chest

i'm playing 1074 and killed the kite shaman. his chest was completely empty. *shocked* why is that? i've never encountered an empty chest before.

any ideas why this would happen?


ps: game is unmodded.

 

it is technically possible for these chests to contain nothing; it's just a very, very, very small chance. start a new game and open the chest. if it contains items, then you were just unlucky the first time, but you can go back and keep playing. if it contains no items, then something is wrong with it and you should see if there are other chests with this problem.

this time it had some items in it.

 

My understanding is that it's based on your name, character, background, etc, and the chest location as are all M1, M2, M3 chests.

 

so if you started two games with exactly the same build, you'd have the same pre-generated items in magic chests?

 

Yes, that's true. Had to do that several times when my game crashed halfway through.

 

I once had arcane plate in there and unidentified ring in there.

 

usually I try not to tell people not to gravedig but if I don't it looks like you're going to dig up every post we have.

so no gravedigging.
