When you are in a fight, in the message area on the bottom panel there is a red target with a percentage number in it. What is that number refering to? Is it something to do with how good of a chance I have at hitting whatever I'm fighting? :???:
i'm not sure, but i'm guessing on; yes i don't got the demo, and its been awhile since i played the game.
Yup, That's the chance to hit. It sometimes goes over 100% too. I think that's because of the critical hit calculations.
Yeah but I don't get why they get up to 200 in some cases? Does that mean I'll get crits 100% of the time?
i doubt it, but it might be a good time to do aimed shots by the way (i doubt that any of body parts comes with a 100% penalty)
hot keys, its in the manual. just so that you can easily use them in RT, i must say i miss the paperdolly though
anyway, jureel, how can you make aimed shots in CTB in FOT? never really bothred to find out, and i never took notice of anything like it being mentioned in the RTFM Manual?
Why not try out TB, and use it a bit more like FO2 (exept that you tag targeting in the circle in the right lower corner of the weapon box)? A pity there is some bug with TB in FOT though, and you have to accept that they some times fires two rounds before you get next round.
the problem, the main problem with FOT and TB is that its not made for TB, the maps are huge! and the fights often takes several turns as few die by one hit! no FOT is a terrible TB game due to this. if you want TB you need to speed up the combat, have it more compact over the course of the game, say like JA2. *g* anyway JA2UB made this very well, fairly small areas with hostiles, and leathal weapons, on both sides. its nothing worse then being hit by a bullet from a hidden adversary and get killed with one shot, or get interupted and blown to pices, but it makes the game so good
I wasn't even aware you could do aimed shots. That is something I'm going to have to investigate a little bit more.
well the thing is that in combat its too slow. if you play a sniper, you can end up loading up more then 10 bullets before someone sacks, even more actually. i'm not sure how many times i've hit mutants and robots with 10-30 bullets before they fall with a lone sniper. i once killed of a behmooth(or something that sounds like it)with a sniper rifle in TB(as its easier to get those good hits, and hide to avoid the roaring guns). let me tell you that killing that bot was almost a one hour job. its just annoying how its made. if you hit someone in the eyes with a .44 at point blank range, do they live to tell the tale! well in FOT they do, personally its just annoying. the combat is too slow due to this, i really hope some mod will come out that makes the game more real, i really do. so that being hit in the chest with a AP bullet is almost always sure death(you bleed to death if hit right in the chest), that something penetrating the armor in the helmet will kill you, or hit you uncouncious at the very least! and that you actually bleed, and that any doctor can at max stop the bleeding during combat. and that only slow healing with certain drugs is possible during an assult got damn it!(and consumption of more then say your endurance worht of healing drugs will kill you) and that backstabbing is fatal almost all the time, as it is due, if you are good enough at it. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: monkeypunch on 2001-06-03 10:21 ]
