Character creation changes

Anyone have any experience modding the character creation process? If so, I've got a few questions.

Where is the starting number of char points stored?

Where are the stats for the different races stored?

Any other experience with character creation would be great too.

The starting number of points for all characters is actually the same. The modifications to them can be found in effects.mes on the basis of race, gender and background. All characters are based on modifications of human males, so you can figure things out pretty fast from that. I'm pretty sure that gives you an 8 in each stat as the "ground" state and then it is modified to fit the race, etc. If you don't already have a copy of effects.mes where you can get to it, you can find it in arcanum3.dat.
