    Is the character bank just for looks or can I
    actually test the character in a game.I'm completel at a loss here so if anyone can ppoint me towards some documentation on how to I would be grateful

    Short answer? You can't.

    The character bank was created mainly for showing other people your character idea. It was created well before the game was released, but now it's no longer that useful anymore, I'm afraid.
