Can Magnus Learn Found Schematics?

I have Magnus to the point where he can make Feather Weight Axes. I just found the Pyrotechnic Axe schematic but my character is a con man/thief with slight magic leanings, not enough tech skill to make it. I have a schematic for fuel as well. If I gave them to Magnus, can he use them to make a Pyro Axe? There doesn't seem to be anyway to do so. I don't want to invest the CP in my character since it doesn't make sense for him to learn Smithy.

BTW, I think Balanced Swords are better than the FW Axe because they get a lot more attacks per round and only do slightly less damage. Sog gets 4-5 attacks with them doing 20-30pts a hit. Too bad you can't dual-wield swords in this games!

 

No followers can learn any found schematics.

You have to learn them yourself, and if need be, boost your tech discipline aptitudes using tech manuals so you can build it. Those can be bought from a halfling in the building next to the Tarant Library.

Is it possible to edit my followers' auto-level schemes, or (better yet) to distribute their character points myself? Would simply setting their scheme to 'none' allow this?

You can edit their levelling schemes...it's pretty tricky though, you have to unpack a specific dat file, then you have to find the level schemes and figure out how they work...took me a while...I have yet to 'fix' them though...

 

But is it possible to assign their char pts myself whenever they level up?

 

i think its not possible for you to distribute the cp the only way is to edit there leveling scheme i think there are some instructions can be found in this site

 

You cannot directly place their CP's. If you want to do that sort of thing, you'll have to find another game. You can change the levelling schemes though.
