Has anyone made a bugged item list? Bugged as in schematics that can't be made, items that give a permanent effect that should only be temporary, etc. If you could direct me to a list or post what you know that would be helpful.
In particular I was wondering if there is an item that gives a permanent -1 to dexterity. Gar has red dexterity and checking back through my saves he seems to have lost 1 point of dexterity some time around searching the sealed sewers of Tarant. I did this just after getting him (level 10). I've removed every item he has, rested, boosted him with charged rings and rested some more but the penalty seems to be permanent.
Probably unrelated, but for the first day that I had Gar he had a lowish MA. After resting he became neutral. Perhaps he has special attributes before he joins the party (help to defend Barnum?) which take a day to reset.

Yep, there's a hexed sword in the Tarant Sewers that does that. I believe it's called the Blackstone blade or somesuch. Never equip anything magickal if you don't know what it is, and never give anything unidentified to followers. If it's bad, they'll wear it.

Sounds odd. Sure you weren't at a location with a MA boost? (for example, being anywhere near the Vermillion station will give you +20 tech aptitude etc)

I'm fairly certain he was standing on Barnum's doorstep. I'll check to see if I have a save later.

I think you are right about the sword. Some dwarf bought it off me for almost 1000 gold even after it was identified as cursed so it couldn't have been that awful.

That's a start to the list:

    Item: Blackstone blade
    Location: Tarant sealed sewers
    Bug: Permanent -1 to dexterity

    Dark helm
Dread lord in Ashbury castle or Wise women (random)
Permanent reduction of maximum alignment by 20 and +20 to MA

Surely the curse should stop when you remove the item?
It does not, so the item is bugged.
Permanent hexes allow you to do stupid things such as a tech character with 100% MA thanks to the Dark Helm.
I seem to remember reading that these bugs weren't fixed in the patch because "you shouldn't use them anyway" (i.e. they forgot / were too lazy to set the remove flag properly).

Yup, that seems to be it.
I'm surprised the magic shop owner hasn't been round to sabotage Parnell's mini-steam engine.

The Dark Helm has always been a bit buggy, it tends to permanently leave you evil and the like. But I am pretty sure that the Blackstone Blade is suppossed to be a permanent curse.

    Harrow (Axe)
    Loghaire Thunderstone, Wheel Clan
Supposed to be powerful, especially when used by a good aligned dwarf but it is very weak regardless of who wields it.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that when you equip Harrow it makes your damage appear as 0. This means that followers will equip any weapon rather than Harrow so if you want them to use it they can't carry any other weapons.

It's good, compared to a regular axe, but compared to some tech stuff you can make, it's nothing special.

A little bit of undatting and scripting should fix that.

A little bit of undatting and scripting can fix, or ruin anything. Depends on your point of view.

Belive I'ts hard to fuck up anything by fixing this, you just need the effect.mes file and change a few parameters.

By ruin, I mean not destroy the games beyond use, but ruin balances that the programmers created.

Or, you simply don't care and make a pyrotechnic axe instead?

This is still on the topic of Harrow...possibly.
I was in the Bangellian Deeps, fighting the paladins, and I noticed that Loghaire had a spell effect above his head. It looked like a little cloud / ball of static. His constitution had increased from 9 to 13. A few minutes after battle ceased his constitution returned to normal.
The only spell casters in my group are Virgil and Smythe, neither of them has access to spells which raise constitution so is this what the axe does when used by a dwarf?
    If not, any other ideas?
This is the only time I have seen this happen but I've only had Loghaire in minor battles so far.

Your description of what happened sounds like someone cast vitality of air on him, but as you say this cannot be cast by any member of your pary.

Can't he have a crippled leg or something?

(And Vitality of Air has never worked fine for me.)

Vitality of Air has never been a spell worth investing in anyway.

The entire Air College has never been one that I've bothered with, I learnt it once and that was enough.
