Just wondering, and couldn't find a previous topic that was clear on the subject: weapons like the Mechanized Gun require 6 bullets a shot. Since the damage rating on the MG is 1-30, does that mean that each bullet does between 1 and 30 damage? Or just that, as a whole, the 6 bullets do 1-30 damage?

I'm pretty sure it's the latter, but I just can't see 6 bullets being worth that, especially with the Hand Cannon and the Elephant Gun as other options, and found earlier. On that note, I can't really see the advantage of the Elephant Gun over the Hand Cannon. The damage is fairly comparable, and the Hand Cannon is much faster. Am I wrong on this count?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I quite agree with you. Guns are largely unbalanced as they are originally. A fate point used to steal a Hand Cannon from Sammie White upon your first visit to Tarant, and you'll be using that weapon alone for quite some time. It's much easier than getting the Gunsmithy, IN and part requirements too.

It's quite disappointing, since there are so many creatable guns in the game. But yes, from what I've seen of the damage : bullets used ratio, the damage is done per shot, no matter how many bullets are used. So some of the more interesting sounding guns are very disappointing indeed.

I think the Elephant Gun only has a small range advantage over the Hand Cannon, but even then, there aren't actually many opportunities to shoot from a far distance, so the Hand Cannon is still the better choice.

It's quite sad really, but with a little restraint you can enjoy a little deserved progression from one gun to another. I'd just say to explore Vendigroth properly. There are a few superior items to be found. Even so, a lessened damage and quicker fire rate in exchange for the bullet count of some guns would be much preferred. But that's just my opinion.
