Being randomly attacked while in combat by magic?

Okay so this started when I went through passage to get to Quintarra. When any one of my characters attack or when I cast an attacking spell, sometimes a strange golden pentagram appears under their feet and they take a lot of damage. I checked to see if I have any cursed items, but I do not from what I can tell. This happens everywhere I go now and only in combat. Any idea what this is?

 

Nevermind! I forgot to to identify one of my character's ax that appeared to be cursed.

lol I figured no one was going to reply to my topic after a day or two so I was going to just delete it .

 

There's a lot of knowledge on this forum (or at the very least, there used to be), but we're not as active as we once were. Questions hopefully get answered......eventually.

My fault. I wanted to answer that question and would have said that you still have to double-check your inventory, because there is a great possiblity that you still have equipped a cursed weapon/etc......but.....I got distracted....as usual. Sorry.
