you're quoting some guy off a comic book forum? who's saying that the devs are kinda sorta saying that van buren is fallout 3? i'm on the ip boards all the time and i've seen NO indication that any BIS emp has even kinda come close to making a statement like that. now i've seen plenty of gamers trying to get them to say something about it, but that's hardly official.

please, give me a direct link to someone from IP or BIS saying this.

weeeeeeeeeellllllllll, im not so optimistic. there are loads of rumors like this before, and even if its real, they FUCKED UP BOS and could do the same to fallout 3. also bear in mind that there's a console fallout: piece of SHIT being developed so im not sure if they can do 2 at the same time. or maybe this fallout 3 they're talking about is just a PC version of POS

What is it that will stop interplay from turning it into a FPS?
I certanly hope it will happen, but with interplay involved i think it is unlikely.

 

There are loads of stuffs like this in Fallout Fansite Forums. They said that the project jefferson (or Baldur's Gate 3) was halted to give way to Van Buren (or Fallout 3). Well they have been working on Van Buren but they never officially announced that Van Buren is Fallout 3. But just yesterday (June 12) Chris Avellone, lead designer of Van Buren (as they thought), had resigned Interplay.

 

There won't be a BG3 because of legal issues.

 

What kind of legal issues?

I've read from somewhere on the net, which maybe not that reliable, that it has been stopped because they lack the money to develop two games. So they halted it and started Van Buren instead.

As in Black Isle not renewing the contract to develop D&D games for the PC...but retaining them for the console. Besides, Josh Sawyer has publicly gone on record and said that BG3 is NOT in development, but rumours suggested that Jefferson was BG3.

Check it out here. What can I say? I'm GLAD it's not in development, BG is a plague on mankind and cheapens the RPG industry.

For all of you who would like to see fallout as a FPS, there is an excellent mod for Half-life based on fallout, it's name is Wasteland. Kinda old but what the hell, so is fallout 2 and ppl still play and talk about it, eh?
