God I feel like such a newbie, but in my defense, the manual sucks. There's no index and no details on what I consider important things. Armor and weapons have a number of statistics and I can't find out what any of them mean outside of the obvious, Damage, AC, etc. Some are negative some are positive, but without knowing what they are, I have no way of determining which items are best for myself and my followers. I thought I had a couple figured out, but I don't see any changes in the character page with the item equipped, so it's either a "behind-the-scenes" stat or I'm totally off the mark. Any help would be greatly appreciated  [ This Message was edited by: Khorlo on 2001-09-03 13:46 ]
Anything with a letter before an R is resistace to ONE type of damage, like FR is fire. NP is noise penalty, not good for u sneaky guys out there. And anything with a letter before an D is a type of damage, like EF is fire damage. Tell me witch ones you dont know and ill try to help you out more.
Thanks.. I just have a couple.. the NP was the big one, I couldn't figure out what the heck that was. I still don't know what: D (for gaunts) is for (I was thinking damage if unarmed) or FT on weapons, I thought it was fatigue, but it appears to be something different. Also, how do you activate the magic on weapons and armor? Again, excuse the lameness of this question, but I just can't seem to find the answers in the manual and it's not listed on the hot key list. I just have a couple.. the NP was the big one, I couldn't figure out what the heck that was. For NP is negative good or bad? D (for gaunts) is for (I was thinking damage if unarmed) Yes, D is for damage for gaunts while unarmed. FT on weapons, I thought it was fatigue, but it appears to be something different. FT is for Fatigue damage. Hammers will sometimes do more FT damage than regular damage. So sometimes you'll knock out your opponent first, before he's dead. Also, how do you activate the magic on weapons and armor? Again, excuse the lameness of this question, but I just can't seem to find the answers in the manual and it's not listed on the hot key list. Good question, sometimes you'll get a little blue button near the EXP bars at the bottom of the screen if the weapon can cast spells. However this is not allways the case.
