i was stealing things in oblivion, and my mind wandered to how a first person arcanum would be like, then i wondered how bedokaan would look and i realized something! the argonians look just like how they would be in a 3D arcanum! anyone else agree?
Argonians typically sport horns and fins, the Bedokkan don't. My impression is also that the Bedokkan are a fair bit bigger than humans. Furthermore, Bedokkan are blue, red or brown while argonians are mostly greenish in colour.
yea i guess your right which leads me to my next question: anyone else think that the dialogue in oblivion is horrendous and completely kills the game?
Yes, I was so horrified with the dialogues that I couldn't compel myself to play it at all. They promised that they won't do the same thing to Fallout 3.
My guess is that Bedokkans can't wear any game armor bacause it is only suitable for some races in terms of size and shapes, and they have a diffrent anatomy than other humanoid races and just can't fit in an armor which was intented for a human or elf. They would wear armor if there were any Dedokkan armor in the game (just like Ghoul Armor and Super Mutant Armor in Fallout Tactics). While the Arronax thing is just a bug. Troika didn't expect anyone will take any armor to the Void especially for him to wear.
Yes, but I explained it from the RPG side. But if a half-ogre with a mechanised plate still looks like he would only have a barberian armor and the designers were cool with it, so they could also allow Bedokkans wear some armor without changing the sprite with the same view on things. However they didn't, so for me the anatomy explanation is a little more appealing.
See thats one reason why Bedokkans are not Argonians! Argonians CAN wear armor, and they even have a tail that can phase through any type of armor. YES, EVEN DAEDRIC.
In all honesty though, the fact that they couldn't wear closed helmets and boots in Morrowind was a nice touch.
Regarding racial item limitations... When I made my very first halfling character in Arcanum, I thought the prowling bonus due to barefeet would be lost with boots (like gloves & pickpocket penalty), or that I wouldn't be able to wear boots at all.
Get yourself a pair of elven boots and watch the fun begin. Couple with Invisibility for the best effect!
